Jen Montalvo – Director of Client Relations

I come from a long line of motivated, strong and feisty women. My twin sister, brother, and I were taught to always go above and beyond just completing a task. The question in our house was always “What more can you do?”, and that philosophy has made me a driven person who likes problem-solving. I’m someone that people can count on, who they can confide in and who they know genuinely cares about and values them.

I started at WestStar straight after graduating from UW Cum Laude. It’s the only place I’ve worked, and through the different hats I’ve worn over the years, I’ve been able to really help build relationships with our clients and have seen the difference that a positive attitude ‘can-do’ and a personal touch makes.

The best part of my job is developing relationships. I love getting to know everyone I work with – clients, co-workers, and other WestStar advisors alike. Everyone has a story to tell and I love learning about them.

My amazing husband and kids are the best things that ever happened to me. I met my husband through a friend I played rugby with when I was 16, and have known and loved him for over half of my life! We love to play, travel, and experience new things together. Everyone knows when my family steps into the building – we enjoy bringing joyful energy everywhere we go.

My friends and I grew up climbing trees; we would climb to the top where we could see the lake and bring up a small radio and some jelly beans and watch the sun set. I’ve been a nickname person my whole life and people often don’t know my family and friends’ real names. I go all-out for the holidays – after I decorate my own house, I go to my parents’ to help decorate theirs, and then my in-laws’. I once danced on The Tonight Show (Jay Leno) stage- it was nerve wracking! I actually enjoy weeding.
