Knowledge and a plan of action are critical for achieving your desired financial outcomes.

My dad was in the military and our family moved often. This allowed us to see the world and taught me to thrive during transitions.

Our process with clients deals with transitions, and applies a recipe that includes one large portion of Investment Management, two cups of Behavioral Science, and it’s generously seasoned with life choices and events.

Our practice is built on 2 pillars:

  1. Households 5-10 years from retirement: Focused on Financial Planning, Retirement Income and Tax-efficiencies
  2. Orchestrating 401(k) plans for optimal participant outcomes and administrative efficiencies

Prosperity and security in retirement are the result of informed decisions, not simply something achieved by acquiring a particular net worth.

I strive to understand the facets that make someone’s financial life personal and unique, and then use tools and resources to develop and implement a plan of action.

The process with clients starts with integral questions; ‘What do you expect from an advisor? How will we know if the process has been a success? Having worked together, what will be different 5-10 years from now?’

I work alongside households within 5-10 years of retirement, helping them to gain assurance and take actionable steps to strengthen their long-term financial outlook. With a tax efficient approach to wealth management, we build a blueprint for the years they’ll spend in retirement.  The plan is nimble, ensuring that when life offers uncertainty and market fluctuations occur, we have a design to weather the storm.

For those to whom retirement is the elephant in their room, I like to ask; ‘What steps are you taking to digest your retirement elephant?’ My proven process allows us to address the tasks one bite at a time, targeting the items that are timely and top of mind.

Business owners burn the candle at both ends, but who is looking out for them?

Entrepreneurs are often so focused on their day-to-day efforts, they miss out on attending to the big picture – their own financial outlook. When there’s a lack of coordination between their CPA, Attorney and Financial Advisor, details fall through the cracks. I partner with business owners to work behind the scenes, looking at tax-efficient models for building wealth within and outside the company, and improving their long-term outlook.

Incredible change happens in your life when you decide to take control of what you do have power over, instead of craving control over what you don’t. – Dr. Steve Maraboli, Author & Behavioral Science Academic

Ensuring 401(K) Plans Work efficiently for Participants and Plan Sponsors alike

I work with 401(k) plan sponsors and participants with the goal of delivering the most impactful benefit their employees will ever receive. The CPFA (Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor) designation helps set me apart as a true advocate for the plan, ensuring regulations and expectations are followed for the best interest of the participants.

Plan participants deserve to understand their plan and have both the knowledge and confidence that their contributions will serve as a crucial part of their retirement cash-flow needs.

Within the plan, fees should be transparent, competitive, and in line with the value being provided. Our process offers confidence that the plan is compliant with ERISA requirements, and its fiduciary folder is up to snuff; but more importantly, that participants’ retirement readiness is being measured, managed and improved upon every year.

In My Community and family:

I serve my local Rotary club as a way to stay in touch with the community. I attend church, as a way to stay grounded in my faith. Our 3 children have “launched” and we’ve been blessed with a granddaughter.

Fun Facts

In the past, I’ve been active, skiing, scuba diving, and mountain climbing. Those seasons are now behind me and I currently enjoy hiking, pheasant hunting, gardening, preparing family meals, golf, bike rides, being a grandfather, and marriage enrichment events.

As an Eagle Scout, I experienced the last summer Spirit Lake BSA camp (before Mt. St. Helens erupted). I also once completed a 50-mile canoe trip and finished the STP bike ride with my wife.
