Helping Long-Term Investors Target Sound Investment Returns via a Deep Understanding of Capital Markets

I grew up in Los Angeles and moved to Alaska in 1990, where I worked as an airplane mechanic for two years before moving to the University of Alaska Fairbanks to obtain my MBA.

I’ve been a financial advisor for over two decades, focusing on uncovering opportunities that benefit my clients. I started out working for prominent investment firms ─ Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, and Wells Fargo Advisors ─ where I formed my investment thesis over a time when the investment world was changing fundamentally.

I believe that to make a ‘transformative’ impact, a financial advisor must devise their clients’ investment strategy based on a deep understanding of both the capital markets, and the clients’ hopes and aspirations, and that this is an exception to today’s one-size-fits-all approach.

By combining the roles of relationship manager and money manager I’m able to provide superior client service and an investment strategy to meet my clients’ specific needs.

I love helping long-term investors target sound investment returns through a deep understanding of both the capital markets, and their hopes and aspirations.

Having come to realize that I could best serve my clients as an independent financial advisor, I joined WestStar Prosperity Partners in 2022 and became part of the Cetera Wealth world. Instead of using cookie-cutter models that many financial firms adopt, my advice is based on a deep understanding of what is driving the current economic cycle.

My clients are looking for advice that goes above and beyond the canned approach. They include people who are actively employed, and those heading to and through retirement. I go beyond traditional investments of stocks and bonds, and consider all investment options that work toward meeting their goals.

They see me as someone that can be trusted to offer advice based on my knowledge of their needs and preferences, and our relationships are based on trust and their knowing that I have their best interests at heart.

Nothing thrills me more than to provide a level of service that goes beyond their expectations, and the technical knowledge of investments to meet their needs, both on an emotional level and a return-on-investment basis.

I provide a genuine understanding of their needs and aspirations, coupled with the financial knowledge to implement their strategy, and the technical ability to target the sound investment returns that they’re looking for.

I encourage them to take a long-term view of their investments and realize that business cycles are measured in years and not days. From time to time, they’re willing to change course to respond to the expectations of market changes. When it comes to making difficult decisions, they weigh my recommendations and advice before making the final choice.

I have two interests in life besides spending time with my family. One is cooking, making hot sauce, BBQ sauce, pizza etc. The other is working on cars.  I have a garage full of tools and don’t hesitate to roll up my sleeves and maintain the vehicles of my wife and kids.

In my community, I prefer to help individuals as opposed to sending money to charity. I feel like I make a difference when I work one on one with an individual that could use my help.

I spent four years working internationally and after I got married, I decided to move back to the US and spend time with my family. That’s when I started to work in the investment world, and have been ever since. I think that I have checked off most of my bucket list and am now in a position to pay attention to the important things in life: my family and my clients.
