Sam Gullette

My mission in life is to help people take control of their money and avoid financial stresses.  My motivation stems from my parents’ divorce when I was young – being raised by a single mother who worked tirelessly to get several degrees – raise us, feed us, pay for our school, and start her own business.  The limiting factor was money, and it caused our family a lot of uncertainty and fear.  My wife was also raised by a single mother and we draw great inspiration from the perseverance of strong and determined mothers.

I decided early on in life to be in control of what I could earn for my own family. Through the American College I attained my CFP (Certified Financial Planner professional) and CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) certifications. I started this branch after years of success in the industry – with the vision of providing financial planning as a true service.

I believe that your financial plan and portfolio should be tailored to make your dreams a reality. My clients are successful professionals and executives, many of whom are compensated heavily with company stock. Along with their financial success comes a great burden and a real challenge to being happy, and balancing their life’s priorities. Together we maximize their wealth-building opportunities, minimize taxes, and make sure their family is protected if they die too soon or become disabled.

With WestStar’s 360° financial planning approach, I start way out in the future and work backwards to illustrate the impact of different choices; this empowers clients to make astute ones. Therein lies true freedom, independence and confidence: a sense of calm in knowing where they’re heading, and having a co-pilot they can count on.

I thoroughly enjoy getting to know my clients on a personal level, walking alongside them, and helping them to live with a peaceful financial confidence.

My incredible wife is my very wise and level-headed coach.  We love raising our three children, and going to all their events and activities.  Outside of work, I love to play golf, to ski and mountain bike.

I know it’s important to support the communities that support us at WestStar.  We volunteer for various organizations a few times a year, whether it’s a food bank or a horse rescue center.

I got a hole-in-one on hole number 9 at Chambers Bay. I love fishing in Alaska with my dad and brother each year. We once caught a 100 pound halibut. It broke one of the seats flopping around in our aluminum boat.  I used to play ice hockey. I took a quarter off in college, found a job and place to live in Snowmass, Colorado so I could snowboard for a full winter. My favorite actor is Chevy Chase.
